About Kingston and Its Housing Market
Formally called Kingston upon Thames, Kingston is a town in South West London located about 10 miles from the City Centre. Famous for the Rose Theatre, Kingston University and as a host to several 2012 London Summer Olympics events, Kingston also has a rich history dating back to at least Saxon times.
The town is first mentioned by written records in the 9th century when a meeting between King Egbert of Wessex and Archbishop of Canterbury took place here. Later, it was the site of coronations of several Saxon kings. These are thought to take place at St. Mary’s chapel which, unfortunately, fell into ruins in the 18th century. However, a large stone has been recovered from the ruins and is believed to be the Coronation Stone. It currently sits in front of the Kingston Guildhall.
Fantastic schools, good transport links, low crime rates and relatively affordable housing made Kingston very popular with families, first-time home buyers and investors. The average property prices are similar to the overall London average. In practice this means that some properties sell well above the London average but it also means that it’s possible to find some great deals The majority of sold properties in Kingston are flats and are selling at an average price of £370,000. Last year terraced homes went for an average price of £540,000, while an average semi-detached property was sold for £650,000.

Beautiful finish and great team to have in your home
We commissioned a loft conversion to accommodate to 2 children’s bedrooms and a shower room. We are both delighted with the finished product as Chris, Andy and the team have been able to create a huge light and airy space in our once dark loft. They have even impressed our 3 year old daughter who takes pride in showing everyone her new bedroom!
The team were friendly and efficient, cleaning up each day and accommodating requests to keep the disruption to a minimum. Andy provides an amazing service being at the end of a phone to answer any questions and is always completely cool & calm, even if the client has measured the shower to fit within a mm!
We have been delighted to show local families around the conversion so they can appreciate the end result, size achieved and process involved.
A huge thanks again to the team for looking after us.
