Design Brief
- Create a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom
- Maximise the loft space
- Use Velux Windows
Specification
During the feasibility survey it was established that there was little structural work to be done. The property was recently built and the original builder had constructed the roof structure with pre fabricated attic trusses.
The challenge on the project was installing the staircase. The existing first floor layout consisted of an open plan gallery landing, so we established that in order to install the staircase and make the stairwell flow we would have to extend the first floor area. That would allow us to install the new staircase over the existing.
As the new position of the staircase divided the loft into a larger area and a smaller one it worked perfect to have a bedroom at one end and the en-suite at another.
Finally we added two banks of Velux windows to create a feature and the conversion was complete.
Testimonial
"We wanted to say a big thank you for the work undertaken on our loft conversion. The quality of the build has been first class and we would have no hesitation in recommending you to others.
As a project manager you have been exceptionally organised, flexible and friendly and thankfully for us contactable all hours! The various teams employed on the conversion have all been hard working and polite and have taken the time to do a proper job.
Special thanks to Dan and Andy who's work has been of the highest quality. They have been so diligent and respectful and are such nice guys. Nothing has been too much trouble. Many thanks again for all your hard work"
